About This Treatment
A Non-Invasive Approach to Snoring Management
Fotona’s NightLase® therapy uses gentle Er:YAG laser energy delivered intraorally to the soft palate and surrounding upper airway tissue. The controlled thermal effect stimulates collagen tightening within these soft tissue structures, which may reduce their tendency to vibrate and partially obstruct the airway during sleep — a recognised mechanism behind chronic snoring. Clinical studies have demonstrated measurable improvements in snoring intensity following the NightLase® protocol, making it one of the more studied non-surgical anti snoring treatment options available today. This treatment is not a substitute for a medical assessment of sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnoea. A medical consultation is required prior to treatment.

How it Works
Fotona's precise laser energy interacts with tissue at a cellular level.
01
Soft Tissue Targeting
Er:YAG laser energy is delivered to the collagen-rich soft tissue of the soft palate, creating a controlled thermal effect within the upper airway structures.
02
Tissue Tightening Response
The thermal effect causes collagen fibre contraction and stimulates new collagen production — similar in principle to collagen-stimulating treatments such as Fractional Resurfacing — aimed at firming the soft palate and reducing airway laxity.
03
Reduced Vibration
Firmer soft palate tissue may vibrate less during sleep, potentially contributing to a meaningful reduction in snoring noise and upper airway resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs)
NightLase® is considered a treatment for snoring and mild sleep-disordered breathing. It is not a standalone management option for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), which requires formal medical investigation and specialist oversight. If OSA is suspected, your practitioner will refer you appropriately rather than proceed with laser treatment alone.
