Q1: What is a PRP facial treatment?
A PRP facial, often called a vampire facial, is a natural skin
rejuvenation treatment that uses platelet rich plasma prepared from
a small sample of your own blood. The plasma is rich in growth
factors and is delivered into the skin through microneedling and
fine injections, stimulating collagen production, new skin cells
and overall skin renewal.
Most patients find the treatment very tolerable. Numbing cream is
applied before we begin, so you feel only light pressure or a mild
tingling sensation as the PRP is worked into the skin. The blood
draw itself feels just like a routine blood test.
Collagen renewal continues for around three months after treatment,
with results that can last up to 18 months. Maintenance sessions
help sustain your results, and your practitioner will recommend a
schedule that suits your skin.
Q4: How many sessions are needed?

Most patients achieve the best results with a course of three

treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Some notice an
improvement in glow and texture after just one session, and your
doctor will confirm the right plan at your consultation.
Downtime is minimal. Your skin may look red for one to two days and
feel a little dry for up to a week, so regular moisturiser and daily
SPF are important. Avoid makeup on the day of treatment and skip
exfoliants and harsh actives for around ten days afterwards.
PRP facials help with fine lines and wrinkles, dull or tired looking
skin, uneven tone and texture, acne scarring, thin crepey skin and
dark circles around the eyes. It can be applied to the face, neck,
decolletage and hands, and works as a natural alternative to
synthetic injectables.
